To offer the very best in psychiatric care, Dr. Groff's practice is out-of-network, direct pay only, eliminating the restrictions of insurance companies. Patients are encouraged to know their out-of-network benefits and to understand their deductibles before investing in treatment.

Kari Groff, MD is a well-respected NYC psychiatrist. She completed her psychiatry training at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she served as chief resident. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the highest academic medical honor society in the medical profession. She was elected by her peers to the prestigious Gold Humanism in Medicine Society, an award that celebrates a physician's ability to practice compassionate medicine and serve as a role model to other physicians.
Dr. Groff completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the NYU Child Study Center. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both adult and child psychiatry. She is frequently consulted for her extensive training and experience in psychopharmacology, her gentle and appropriate use of medication, and her wellness-centered approach focusing on a patient’s strengths and goals.
Additionally, Dr. Groff is co-creator of the www.thebrightsiders.com. The Bright Siders released their award-winning debut album on Smithsonian Folkways as well as a video-book about compassion during the pandemic.
